  • Regional Development

    IREAS carried out research and educational projects that dealt with regional, urban and rural issues. The institute examined the public policy impact on regional levels, dealing both with national and international factors. The effectiveness of provision of financial aid and other assistance to less economically developed areas was analyzed. In its rural development projects, IREAS was interested in evaluation of efficiency, outcomes and impacts of the EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Economic and environmental aspects of the rural development support for the farmers were inspected. Subsidy policies for the fishermen (acquaculture) were analyzed as well. IREAS associates dealt with evaluation of agri-environmental, less favoured areas (LFA) and forestry subsidies. Some project studies examined the EU agricultural cross-compliance conditions, including the issues of agricultural land abandonment, Good Agricultural and Environmental Condition (GAEC), etc. The Institute cooperated with the Czech Ministry of Regional Development, the Czech Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Authorities and other public bodies. IREAS got involved in common projects with research and educational institutions from the United Kingdom, Germany, Slovakia, and other countries.

  • Human Resources

    This team focuses on education and support of people with various disadvantages and people who work in educational or social area of interest. We mainly cooperate with primary and secondary schools, children´s homes or organizations in social sphere. Our key topic is creating concrete individual and group support for pupils with specific educational needs to increase their equal opportunities. In the area of further education our team engages in creating programs oriented on the CAN (Child Abuse and Neglect) syndrome that are based on needs of specific educated professional group.

  • Environment

    IREAS conducted research and educational projects that dealt with various environmental issues. Its projects dealt with water management and flood protection, waste management, air and climate policies, brownfields, and also with landscape regeneration and nature conservation, including the Natura 2000 system. Energy developments and environmental aspects of agriculture were analyzed as well, with a special focus on the European Union context. The Institute evaluated public policy impacts on various levels, dealing both with national and international subsidy programs. The effectiveness of provision of financial aid and other assistance was examined. The Institute cooperated with the Czech Ministry of the Environment, the Czech Ministry of Agriculture, Czech Agency of the Environment (AOPK), Regional Authorities and other public bodies. IREAS got involved in common projects with research and educational institutions from Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Lithuania, Belorussia, United Kingdom, and other countries.
