IREAS, Institute for Structural Policy in cooperation with the Community Support Framework of the Ministry for Regional Development of Czech Republic organized on Friday 10th February 2006 in Prague in seminar rooms of Academia IREAS, Stepanska 45, Prague 1 a thematic seminar „Existing experience of the UK in the issue of complex projects for regeneration and development of industrial regions and cities“.

Seminar was in English and was focused for operational programmes compillers, representatives of Managing Authorities of OPs, other ministries, Intermediary Bodies, Monitoring Committees, Regional Authorities and others, who are dealing with work of Managing and Coordinating Committee and compilling programing documents of EU cohesion policy 2007–2013 in the Czech Republic.

On the Seminar were speaking foreign experts from the Leeds Metropolitan University, ERBEDU (European Regional Business and Economic Development Unit) – prof. John Shutt and Stratis Koutsoukos.

Project Objective:

The main goal of the seminar was a methodological discussion on existing experience from abroad (the UK´s) concerning the issue of regeneration and development of industrial regions and practice in realization of appropriate programmes of EU cohesion policy. The essence was in gaining of the broader overview about posibilities of suitable and effective utilization of complex projects.
