The Visegrad Countries have been EU members for five years. The assistance of the Structural Funds started with small delay. The time gap between accession and recent position enables to work on the evaluation of the real impacts of EU Cohesion Policy in those countries.

Project Objective:

The main objective of the project was to evaluate and discuss the impacts of EU Cohesion Policy on Small and Medium Enterprises and Non-government organizations in Central Europe. The team had analyzed key documents and made several investigation of this issue. Lessons learned were presented at the conference and are also included in the publication Impact of EU Cohesion Policy in Central Europe. The project has succeeded in creating partnership among organizations in Visegrad countries. The partner organizations come from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Germany. As a result, there had been included all the Visegrad countries in the project. The team benefited also from cooperation with German partner.

The project helped to create an international scientific platform, composed of organizations dealing with impact of EU Cohesion policy. Experience and findings had been exchanged among partner organizations. The team informed public with its results during a one-day conference.

Outputs:

During the project the team has organized several events:

  1. Workshop in Prague (20 January, 2010). The workshop was attended by representatives of all partners of the project. Each of the participants presented its own professional profile and design issues, which wants to take in a prepared publication.
  2. Workshop in Wroclaw (17 June, 2010). The workshop was attended by representatives from the Czech Republic and Poland.
  3. Conference Impacts of the EU's Cohesion Policy on Small and Medium Enterprises in the Visegrad Countries: Integration of the Social-Market Economy? (19 October, 2010).

Two publications were published during the project:
