This public contract involved developing a comprehensive analysis to assess the impact of key European strategies on the aquaculture sector in the Czech Republic. This included assessing the current state of organic aquaculture, identifying potential risks and opportunities for its expansion, and proposing specific measures to support its sustainable development. The aim was to provide recommendations to enable the more effective implementation of ecological principles and support the sustainable development of the entire aquaculture sector in accordance with European and national goals. The analysis also included an evaluation of the development of ecological aquaculture in neighbouring countries (Austria, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary). It was compiled based on an empirical survey comprising semi-structured interviews with representatives of the freshwater aquaculture sector regarding the possibilities of farming in ecological aquaculture. Surveys and interviews were conducted with representatives of aquaculture enterprises, non-profit organisations, and state administration bodies. The sample of aquaculture enterprises included various types of farming and fish processing enterprises.
