Not only changes in legislation but also technological progress requires continuous education. A series of seminars concerning training in air quality was prepared and implemented throughout the Czech Republic. Each official attended seminars worth at least 8 training days.

The aim of the project was to increase the efficiency of public administration in the field of air quality management by means of continuous training for officials. The project responded to the needs arising from the existing legislation, implementation of the air protection policy at the national, regional and local levels, developments in air protection technologies and the complexity of technical aspects of air protection. A training programme in the form of a series of seminars was prepared and piloted within the project throughout the Czech Republic. The program consists of a basic module (8 training days) and two extensions. The seminars touched the existing regulatory framework, basics of regulation in individual industry sectors as well as evaluation of economic aspects of regulation. The seminars were developed by 20 of the best-known Czech experts in the respective fields.
