How are high school students doing in financial literacy? Are you a teacher who wants to improve lessons with technology and an important topic? Take advantage of e-learning that deals with financial literacy and consumption.
The project responds to the insufficient readiness of secondary school graduates to address situations of everyday financial life (related to increasing household debt levels). Its goal is to increase the ability to address everyday issues of family finances, taxes, loans, investments, etc., but also to show students that they can save on environmentally friendly patterns of consumer behaviour. That is why an e-learning portal with interactive information aids with the support of information and communication technologies has been developed, tested and put into practice in the project.
The interactive teaching tool is a 2–3 lesson product package that covers one of these areas using one of the following tools: models, games, competitions, simulations, and will be complemented by a methodology for teachers.
The main goal of the project was to increase the ability of secondary school students to respond to real-life situations in financial life with respect to sustainability of their actions and environmental protection.
The financial aspect of an individual’s / household’s life is directly influenced by his or her life, social and living environment. If the household gets into financial problems, it has an immediate impact on the other pillars of sustainability (it loses its social status, there is a risk of social-pathological phenomena such as crime, gambling, etc.) and interest in a quality environment decreases. Thus, among other things, it was explained to students that their environmental behaviour can significantly improve their financial situation (energy consumption in households, etc.).
Conclusions of the project:
The output of the project is an e-learning portal with interactive and practical materials for teaching secondary school pupils.
