Under the project registered as an optional English course was created and offered to children with family issues or from a socially disadvantaged environment. The target group is formed by pupils and students of primary schools,special practical schools and secondary schools who live in children’s homes in Central Bohemia Region.

The course was adapted according to the special educational needs of our target group and it was based on the concept of “learning through games” using a multisensory approach. The team of experts that created the teaching materials was led by Dr. Marie Hofmannová who works at the English Language and Literature Department, Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague. This project took place in the following organizations:

• Private children’s home Korkyně,
• Children’s home Lety,
• Children’s home Na Celně 2, Mladá Boleslav
• Children’s home Nymburk,
• Children’s home Unhošť.
